Dr. Ronny G. Gündel
I am a research scientist at TNO, a leading research institute in the Netherlands, where I focus on radar research and related subjects within the Radar Technology Group.
Before joining TNO, I was employed at Delft University of Technology, where I obtained my Ph.D. in radar signal processing with the Microwave Sensing, Signals and Systems (MS3) Group. During my time at TU Delft, I conducted research on advanced radar techniques for human activity recognition, healthcare, and security applications. My Ph.D. research was supervised by Prof. Dr. Alexander Yarovoy and Prof. Dr. Francesco Fioranelli.
Before, I earned my M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Signal Processing and Communication (SPC) from Villanova University, United States. My studies were conducted at the Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), under the supervision of Dr. Moeness G. Amin, with generous support from a Fulbright Scholarship.
Earlier, I completed a Diplom degree in Automotive Electronics (equivalent to a combined B.Sc. and M.Sc.) at the University of Applied Sciences in Zwickau, known for its outstanding facilities in automotive research, including the Center for Automotive Electronic Research.
At TNO, I continue to explore innovative solutions in radar technology, contributing to projects that aim to enhance safety, security, and efficiency across various industries. My research interests include distributed radar systems, machine learning for signal processing, and the integration of radar with other sensing modalities.
